When I first started sewing, I treated it more like just a fun thing to try and make outfits for my child. The more I sew for her, the more I feel like sewing for myself, so I did. Then, one day, my husband asked me, "why don't you make one for me?"
HEY! I have been waiting for you to ask me! That basically meant that my sewing makes have met his "I can wear them" standard!
慶祝一下我的專屬男模第一次作品, 來奉獻上中文版的內容。
2018年底當我說我想要一台縫紉機的時候, 我老公對我真的是傻眼滿分。不斷地確認我真的有興趣之後, 終於趁特價的時候入手了我的縫紉機。當時雖然我動力滿分, 但我對於自己的想法也是可能就玩個幾個月之後就沒興趣了。
慢慢從小孩的衣服開始做, 最近開始成功做出我也可以外穿的衣服。有一天我老公轉過來跟我說: 「不然...乾脆你也來做我的衣服?」
他說他覺得我練習的可以了, 最近的成品看起來他滿有信心可以外穿的。這一整個對我就是超級大的稱讚啊!!!!!
可是, 我所有的樣板都是女生與小孩, 只好開始上網繼續搜尋簡單的男版上衣樣板。
The pattern I used is the basic tee pattern (Affiliate link) from Ellie and Mac pattern company.
這次選擇的我人生第一的男衣樣板選擇的是Ellie and Mac的男版基本上衣(夥伴連結)
My husband is 6 ft tall and 155lb.
In the instruction, it says that the pattern was designed for 5'10", so my added 1" to the pattern for length-sake. I made him in size small based on the size chart on the chest measurement.
The first one was.... rather long. He told me that he'd rather not to have the 1" added and the length would actually be much better.
So, I made him a regular size small basic Tee!! No adjustment at all.
我老公是個吃不胖的高人, 上了大學還持續長高的至少185公分70公斤。這個樣板是以身高177公分的平均身高(原來美國人也是一百七十幾的!)來打的樣板, 185的人剪版要多剪一吋。尺寸我是按照他的胸圍來選擇, 剪的是S號(天啊...真的超級纖細的男子)
結果做出來的樣板衣我老公說覺得太長了一點 (可能是因為他比較瘦, 沒有大胸肌或大肚子), 所以後來剪板我就把多剪的一吋拿掉了。然後....出現的我的專屬男模!!
I used a mixture of jersey (main body and sleeves) and 4-way stretch cotton lycra on the neck-binding to give it a more stable stretch/recovery.
是說, 為了寫這個中文布料, 我很認真地去查了一下布料的中文名稱(更多內容可以看這個布商, 介紹得很仔細! 連結)
這次的衣服主體我是用了Jeysey(單面布, 又稱T恤布), 領口的部分是使用彈性萊卡布讓領口更有彈性, 更穩定。
Fabrics are from Isee Fabric (https://iseefabric.com/). You can find these fabrics under Beach play section (https://iseefabric.com/products/beach-play) where the price is insanely cheap ($4/yd)! And I actually ordered them when they re-launch and offered free shipping, what a steal!
這次的網路布商是Isee Fabric, 一家很棒的店! 重點是這次這個可愛的布價格真的很低廉, 一碼只需要不到一百三十台幣。我老公這件衣服大概需要一碼左右, 布料成本一百三, 我覺得很可以!
What I like about this pattern is that it was designed to sew flat.
What it means is that you sew the shoulders together, then sleeves on, and sew from sleeves to bottom in one movement. I think it is much faster than sew separately then do the attachment of the sleeves. Which... I personally hate it.
這個樣板的縫紉方式算是比較快的, 先把肩膀兩側縫起, 接上袖子之後一口氣把袖子與腰間兩側一起縫起來! 這樣的方式比腰線先縫再接上袖子來的快速很多。
It also comes with the color block option, which I think is what I will make next!
這個樣板也算是很基礎的, 除了短袖長袖之外, 也有拼色色塊的選項。下一次可能就選擇拼色色塊的幫他做衣服吧!

而且...這間店還附送上了教學影片。雖然樣版本本身的步驟就已經寫得很仔細, 有影片就更加清楚了! 不確定自己是不是喜歡這個樣板的話, 可以看看影片!
One thing to mention, I did this 100% using my sewing machine, you don't necessarily need a cover stitch or serger to get this project done!
